I was not able to go to the opening of the exhibition of Dries Van Noten at the Arts Décoratifs Museum because I was traveling at the time. So I took advantage of the arrival of a Swiss friend to finally visit it.The Belgian designer reveals his inspiration and his world through works of art, pieces of his collections or those of the museum, extracts from movies, videos of his shows. His designs have historical references, ethnic, film or painting. Some works of Yves Klein, Francis Bacon and Damien Hirst have been exceptionally lent to the museum for the event. Here, fashion is a sponge, thirsty of art and color. It freely makes round trips between ready-to-wear, painting, sculpture, film, flora, fauna, handicrafts.I loved the exhibition and its scenography despite some doubts about the first rooms. I found the installation of clothing on mannequins do not always put them in values. But that was quickly forgotten when I arrived at the second part at the floor. Finally, I especially remember the extraordinary richness of the world in which Dries Van Noten leads us. This is one of the finest exhibitions about a creator that I saw this last days.
